My name is Brandy Cheney, I am Crystal Cooper's younger sister, and I am prayerfully hoping to raise money for my sister and her family following a horrible car crash. On the night of Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, my sister was driving on Highway 78 in Monroe, Ga, on her way to Piedmont Hospital, where she works as an overnight Labor and Delivery R.N. It had been raining all day, and there was a lot of standing water on the road. Crystal unsuspectingly hit standing water at the bottom of a hill, and hydroplaned off of the highway, slamming into an oak tree, and fishtailing around the tree until the car came to a stop. The crash resulted in two broken ankles and many abrasions. She is anticipating surgery on Monday, February 6, 2023, so long as the swelling is manageable for the surgeons to operate. Her vehicle was totaled in the accident. There is a long road ahead of her before she will walk again, but we are a faith-filled family and believe that all things work together for good. Crystal will walk again!

Crystal will be out of work for a minimum of 3 months, and Anthony, her husband, will be out as well to take care of her. Crystal is heartbroken to have lost her mobility, especially now, while raising an 8-year-old girl, Brookelyn Cooper, and a 2-year-old boy, Cash Cooper. My family, and my brother-in-law's family, are ready to do whatever is necessary to aid during this, both with finances and with our time. Any money given to this fund will be directly applied to the Cooper family's bills. Please know that even if you cannot give, prayers and phone calls are equally appreciated.

P.S. While Crystal was waiting for the emergency responders to arrive on the scene, a man pulled off the road to check on her after seeing what happened. He opened her door and stayed by her side until the responders showed up, holding her hand to keep her grounded and helping her to focus on something other than the pain. He reminded her to call on Jesus. The Lord is there through it all, showing up in acts of love through total strangers.
