Cryptogenic end-stage liver diseaseTRANSPLANT NEED
Donation protected
To all the kind people reading this,
My family and I have started this Go Fund Me page for a special person, my Aunty, Maria Bastian who lives in Sri Lanka. For the last ten years, Maria has had quite a battle with her health making many changes to her normal quality of life and changes to her career life. Maria handled and took care of and her health concerns with the hope it can be managed and controlled by medication and not lead to a transplant.
Maria is a strong, independent and a good hearted individual, who has always taken care of herself, family and others who needs a helping hand, including raising a fundraiser to support a vulnerable child with Scoliosis, where she took care of this until the child’s major surgery was completed in India. She is an astounding role model towards the community in Sri Lanka, and as well as helping a girl with her health situations, Maria also goes feeding the homeless and orphanages every month.
Unfortunately, the year 2020 has made her situation quite different leading her health situation to deteriorate and preventing her to travel to India for a check-up that was due in March 2020, but due to COVID-19 she couldn't go. On the 21st of December, she had a Dr’s appointment via virtually, and it was confirmed she needs to get ready for a liver transplant.
This liver disease has limited her to continue her normal career which has lead to an effect on her income, working, seeing friends and family and being a helpful, independent and being a bright woman who has much more potential in life ahead of her. She had handled this on her own with the cooperation of doctor, family & friends and the hope that she would recover and have her condition controlled by now.
As we all await for this procedure to come around and for a donor, my family and I have found a way to chip in to pay the AUD $70,000 to allow Maria, a hardworking, selfless and appreciative woman to continue an amazing life ahead of her. Along with everyone's support and contributions for this worthy cause, it would be a blessing and would be so fortunate to have a community that cares just as much we do. It means a lot to Maria and she is so appreciative towards the people that supports her during these hard times.
It would be an amazing effort if we could get to our goal by the end of January, as the procedure needs to be done very soon.
This would be saving a life and helping her from having trouble finding the funds to be one less problem to worry about towards the procedure.
We urge everyone to donate. Any contribution will be much appreciated !
Kindly share this to your friends and family. Each donation will take us closer to our goal.
We appreciate everyone’s help and support!
Here is the letter that states Maria needs a transplant asap!
