Let's Crush Lymphoma

For nearly four years, Nick has been battling Stage Four Follicular Lymphoma, a particular type of cancer of the lymphatic system.  He had an enlarged lymph node in the side of his neck that was first thought to be reactive to an infection.  However, after multiple CT Scans it was shown that he had enlarged lymph nodes in his chest, abdomen, and other parts of his body.  After fine needle and full biopsies, it was shown that Nick had Stage Four Follicular Lymphoma.  Not only was it affecting multiple lymph node sites, it had metastasized and was affecting his cervical spine and ribs.  The news was devastating and hard to comprehend – with no other symptoms; he was 39 years old and never been sick in his life and has no family history of the illness.  How could this have happened?

That was the wrong question, the real question was. “What do we do now?”.  When the news was finally processed, Nick decided he was going to fight this head on; and not back down or shy away from the challenge.  He doesn’t have a choice – he loves his family, friends, and life too much to go anywhere!  He sees this as an opportunity to heal himself but also help others as well.  He has already started being an ambassador: educating those around him and in the community about cancer – its causes; its affects; and its treatments.

You probably know Nick as an engineer; a global account manager, a mechanical engineering student, an MBA student; a Captain in the U.S. Army; a cadet from ROTC; a football player at Villanova; a Councilman; an Eagle Scout; an Altar Server; an amateur stand-up comic; a novice writer; or just that guy from that thing that made you laugh; but we also know him as a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a friend.  Hopefully, in a short time, we will all know him as a cancer survivor and advocate.

Help us support him and the thousands like him who have to battle lymphoma.  The proceeds will be used for cancer treatment; outreach; education; and research funding.

We have an aggressive goal to battle an aggressive illness.  Let's do this!  Thank you for your kindness and God Bless you!
