Crusheen Community Centre Renovation Project

Crusheen Community Centre is undergoing a complete renovation which involves extending the centre, which is old, damp, and unattractive. This will include new heating and insulation, doors, windows, additional meeting rooms, conferencing facilities, and high-speed Wi-Fi. This will bring the entire building back into vibrant use and it will become a centre to bring the entire community together ensuring that Crusheen is an inclusive area to live in.
The existing building dates back to 1884 and functioned as the Crusheen National School until 1979. In late 1980 renovation works were completed, and it became a lively local hub, attracting a diverse range of users, as well as being used for extra-curricular activities by the new national school. In 2016 architects drew up a new plan to renovate and extend the building that were put on public display. When the plans were approved by the community, planning permission was sought and granted, and led to the current renovation project that started in March 2021.
Although we are near the end of Phase 1 we are in deficit, and our immediate objective is to raise the required funding to fully complete construction works and to secure the fit-out in order meet the planned opening date of September 2022.
