Pearse Park belonged to one man today and that was Crumlin legend Darren Hodgins.

Darren completed his unfathomable 147km fundraising run today in aid of Crumlin GAA Club.

Darren arrived back in Pearse Park in such good form and speed you’d be forgiven for thinking he only just ran from his house around the corner! An amusing story was shared that Darren challenged some of the U16 Camogie girl support runners to a sprint challenge in Tallaght and beat them all!

Darren has set an amazing example to all of us that whatever you set your mind to you can achieve and has also proven to be an amazing role model for all our juveniles to look up to.

Thank you Darren.

Darren expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped him achieve his goal.

If you couldn’t make it to the park today maybe you could drop a comment here for Darren.

All donations for Darren’s run will go directly towards to the promotion of Gaelic games to children in the Crumlin community.

Any donation no matter how small makes a huge difference to Crumlin GAA, a local community driven GAA club.

We would also like to thank every single person that came to the park this morning to show their support for Darren and Crumlin. Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped setup the bunting, signs and refreshments station & Alan Davis for the additional photography.

We would also like to thank Garden Party Hire for providing us with the beautiful gazebo, bar tables and stools.

Your Community. Your Club. Your Crumlin.

Original Post:

Darren ‘The Road Runner’ Hodgins is once again showing us all how it’s done and raising funds for Crumlin GAA Club so let's dig deep into our pockets and support him every step of the way!

He is going to RUN, YES RUN! from Taghmon, Co. Wexford back to Crumlin GAA Clubhouse.

That is a staggering 147 kilometers!!!

This fundraiser is usually an annual cycling event but due to covid-19 it is not possible at the moment. Wishing to keep the event alive Darren stepped in with this mind boggling quest! We hope to hold a cycling fundraiser later in the year subject ot covid-19 restrictions.

Taghmon is the resting place of club legend Jim Boggan. Jim Boggan was Crumlin's most successful coach and holds a special place in the club members hearts.

Every donation no matter how small makes a huge difference to Crumlin GAA Club and will help us promote Gaelic games to the children in the Crumlin community.

We are a small local GAA club and will ensure all funds raised are put to good use for the juvenile and adult teams that play for the club.

Your Community. Your Club. Your Crumlin.
