Crumbs Surgery

Donation protected

About a month ago we noticed a little bump on Crumbs stomach, after extensive research we came to the conclusion that it was an umbilical hernia - something quite common in young kittens. We were told it was nothing to worry about and that it could be easily removed when she got spayed.

Over the past two weeks the mass has grown a substantial amount. It went from the size of a gum ball to the size of a handball within a week. After calling many vets thinking she still had a hernia, no vets were able to see us unless it was a medical emergency.

In the past 2 days the mass has gotten larger in size, deeper in color and looks much more aggressive. Keep in mind this is all happening as my partner and I are moving across country.

A vet was finally able to see Crumbs today and after multiple x-rays and blood work it is confirmed that she does not have a hernia. The mass is unknown. The vet drew liquid from it to see what would come out and they reported to us that it was a lot of blood. Crumbs is scheduled for an emergency surgery to remove the mass tomorrow, the mass will then be sent to labs to determine if it is cancerous or not and what her next steps should be.

Crumbs is 4 months old and has been with us for 3 of those months. In quick time she became integral to our little family. She came into our lives in a time that we were dealing with a lot of grief, depression and isolation and has given us nothing but unconditional love and joy.

We are asking for any support you may be able to offer us to keep our baby safe and healthy. We know that this ask comes at a difficult time for many so we don’t make this ask lightly. Unfortunately, as I mentioned above, my partner and I are in the process of relocating due to personal events caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and are unable to cover this additional expense alone. If this pandemic has taught us anything it’s that we need our communities to weather the storms that will continue to come our way. So we are turning to our community of loved ones and friends for help. Your support would ensure that we can keep our beloved Crumby while we continue to transition into a healthier living situation. Thank you in advance for your contribution and/or for sharing this message. ❤️
