Cruelty Survivors In Desperate Need of Continued Support

Adopted from a high kill shelter in North Carolina, Cody and Winston escaped euthanasia, only to find themselves suffering a fate worse than death. Starved, beaten and living in deplorable conditions, Cody and Winston lived every second in fear and constant suffering. Cody was beaten so severely that he has permanent scarring all over his body and neurological dysfunction with movement. He took the brunt of the physical abuse in order to protect Winston, whom he deeply bonded with. These boys were taken by animal control, and the town, which is a small, rural farming community, although deeply compassionate lacked resources to care for them. They spent months living inside of a horse trailer with no human contact, facing euthanasia once again due to freezing temperatures. Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center saved these sweet souls when no other rescue or sanctuary could take them in.

With accepting Winston and Cody into their rescue comes an enormous financial cost of their rehabilitation with a professional trainer. While Cody and Winston are receiving the training and care they need, it costs over 600$ a week in addition to their food, and other care expenses. The rescue will be keeping them with the trainer until they find adoptive homes, so this is a weekly financial strain for the rescue. Due to the strain of this financial commitment the rescue is having turn down animals in need from their local shelter that they ordinarily would save from euthanasia, due to lack of funds. We MUST raise these funds in order to enable this incredible rescue to continue to save lives that otherwise have no chance. These funds must be raised in order for Cody and Winston to continue to recieve the specialized care that they deserve, as well. In addition to caring for Winston and Cody, Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center also cares for thirty five horses, thirty dogs, five pigs, three goats, one emu, three cats and three tortoises. Their sanctuary was established in 1999 and is located in Chase City, Virginia.

We are truly grateful for your generosity and support towards these worthy souls, because of you they will continue to heal, and live beautiful lives. Every little bit will help us reach our goal of 7,000$ that is desperately needed to continue caring for these brave survivors. ❤️
