From Tummy Bug to Emergency Surgery: My Fight Against Ulcerative Colitis
I never imagined a simple stomach bug in July would turn into a life-altering medical crisis. What started as discomfort quickly escalated into a fight for my health and, eventually, my life.
The initial issue, became so severe that it required an emergency surgery on September 11th. I went home hoping for a quick recovery and to get back to work, but the nightmare was just beginning. Just 2.5 weeks later, the pain was worse, not better, and my surgeon immediately sent me back to the hospital seeking answers for the worsening condition.
After an inconclusive lower colonoscopy, the situation reached a frightening head. On October 8th, I was rushed into emergency surgery when doctors realized the full severity of what was happening inside. The life-saving measure required the complete removal of my colon.
The resulting diagnosis is Ulcerative Colitis, a severe chronic condition that had suddenly attacked my body. I have been fighting this battle from a hospital bed since October 1st, enduring two major surgeries in less than a month.
The financial reality of this sudden health catastrophe is crushing. I haven't been able to work since early September, and the lack of income combined with continuous hospitalization means I am running up astronomical medical bills while my savings are rapidly running out.
I am asking for your support to help cover lost wages, mounting medical bills, and the daily expenses that continue while I focus everything on recovery. Every share and donation helps me get one step closer to leaving this hospital and rebuilding my life after this devastating ordeal.
I am asking for your support to reach a goal that will allow me to focus entirely on healing. This includes covering the medical expenses and unexpected costs from two surgeries, but critically, it needs to cover at least two months of essential living expenses (rent, utilities, etc.). This crucial time will allow me the full recovery time my body needs before I can safely return to work and finally get back on my feet.
Every share and donation helps me get one step closer to leaving this hospital and rebuilding my life after this devastating ordeal.
