Hello my name is Sheri Dozier an I am organizing this fund raiser for my nephew Corey. On September 18, 2023, Corey 22 yrs was in a single car accident where he was knocked unconscious and the car was fully engulfed in flames. Although he remained unconscious the local EMS extracted him from the car and airlifted him to the hospital burn and trauma unit.

Even though his vitals were stable upon arrival, due to the extensive burns over his body he has remained in an intensive critical state. Unfortunately that was the beginning of his devastating journey.

In less than a week Corey has had two surgeries to remove the destroyed tissue which revealed the severity of his left side resulting in the emergency need for the amputation of his foot. Corey is scheduled to have two surgeries every week to continue to remove destroyed skin, repair and rebuild body structures, for as long as he is strong enough. He currently is fighting infection, fever and other complications from the burns.

The traumatic impact of this has hit Corey’s family hard. Mainly it’s affect on his mother Margaret; who suffers from neurological and rheumatoid disease which renders her with severe limitations. Due to the moment to moment changes in Corey’s condition and his unawareness to his condition Margaret has remained at Corey’s bedside.

The doctors have estimated Corey’s injuries will keep him hospitalized for 2-3 months All before any cosmetic correction can even be considered.

Your prayers are greatly needed for Corey and his family. However, this situation has already revealed the financial distress on his family. Your financial contribution will truly help in this crisis.

All financial donations will totally be applied to cover Coreys hospitalization, doctors/specialist fees. Corey’s family (son Cayden, mother and father (Corey Sr) other responsibilities and expenses incurred for Corey’s care.
