Hi, my name is Larissa, and I’m fundraising to help save my grandpa’s home.

My grandpa is facing a devastating situation. He currently owes $16,000 to the Canada Revenue Agency, and without paying this amount, he is at risk of losing the house he has lived in for years — the same home where he raised his family and helped raise mine.

This man gave up the majority of his adult life to raise me and my brother, and later stepped in again to help me raise my daughter. He has always put family first, sacrificing his own comfort and stability so we could have ours. Now, after retiring, a series of errors and complications with the bank left his finances in disarray, and the debt has grown beyond what he can manage on a fixed income.

Watching someone who has given so much face the loss of his home has been heartbreaking. He doesn’t deserve to lose everything after a lifetime of hard work, love, and selflessness.

We are trying to raise $16,000 to pay the outstanding CRA debt and prevent foreclosure. Every single donation — no matter the amount — brings us one step closer to keeping a roof over his head and giving him the security and dignity he deserves in his later years.
