Sheila was in a horrific accident today (2 days before Thanksgiving)
A gas can caught fire and exploded into her face. She was found by her 10 year old son, Nick, whom called Chad and was rushed to the Mankato hospital where Doctors treated her for 2nd and 3rd degree burns over her entire her face, arms and in her throat.
Due to the weather they were not able to life-flight her so she was taken to Hennepin Healthcare Burn Center in Minneapolis via ambulance. She is currently sedated with a breathing tube allowing her to breath due to swelling in her throat from the blisters and burns.
Because of the extent of injuries Sheila will be sedated for a minimum of 3 days. Once the swelling goes down the Doctors will be able to evaluate the burns and prescribe necessary treatments.
We know medical expenses are going to be high. The ambulance trip alone is priced at over $8,000. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
