“This was a legendary sword. It once belonged to a man... Whose grandfather was a pirate. And, with this sword, he cast away a powerful sea monster! But legend has it, it still lived..."
The Silver Cutlass is a short film about family, grief, adventure, and the importance of fantasy and imagination. It tells the story of the elderly novelist Theodore Fischer, moving into a smaller apartment after the loss of his wife. When his granddaughter Pearl comes over, she sees how badly he's been taking care of himself. When she finds this sword between all the old junk, she tries to bring back the storyteller in him by telling him a story that closely parallels his situation. It'll be a frame narrative, so we'll be switching between the modern world, and the story world, which is full of sailors, sea monsters, and adventure.
I'm extremely passionate about this project, and I've worked tirelessly to create a script I'm incredibly proud of. With your help, l'll be able to turn it into a beautiful film that l'm even more proud of. I've got a wonderful crew working with me, so you can rest assured that your donation will not go to waste.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read. I hope you'll consider donating, and if you can't donate I hope you can share this crowdfunding link to anyone you know who might be interested.
Thank you!
