After 4 years of operating as a pop-up shop, The Crowded Bookshelf is finally ready to put down roots. Read on to learn about our plans for the shop and ways you can help support us!
Operating as a pop-up shop has been a great experience. But it can be rather limiting. We're ready to create a cozy, inviting space with a diverse and eclectic selection of books to browse.
We've hosted our share of events, and with our own space we hope to do even more! Everything from author events, poetry readings, story time, crafting events, death cafes, workshops...the list could go on!
Just as important, we want to show our love for our fellow small businesses! We plan to source as many gift and accessory products from local makers as we can.
The Crowded Bookshelf is so lucky to be part of a community that strongly supports its local businesses. Opening a store is big and scary and feels just a tiny bit insane. But it is equally thrilling and unbelievable and full of possibilities.
Any donation you are able to make is immensely appreciated. If you aren't able to donate, please consider supporting us in other ways!

- Encourage your friends and family to donate or shop at our store. We ship all over the US
- Buy books from us! Either in person or online at thecrowdedbookshelf.com. You can get audio and e-books and still support us, too. For audiobooks go to Libro.fm and for e-books go to Bookshop.org (you can also get print books on Bookshop.org at a slight discount!)
- Buy a gift card and save it for a rainy day. This gives us an influx of cash but you still get books later!
- Become a store member! Even if it just the $5 a month tier, it is cash that we can count on. Find a sign up link on our website's homepage
