Crowd Fund Campaign

Hello! As many of you know, I have owned The Dover Color Bar for over 11 years now, located in downtown Dover, NH. I'm a single mom who has single handedly built my business from scratch with grit, determination and the joy of helping people feel amazing, allowing their outward appearance to reflect their inner beauty and self. I have been a cosmetologist for almost 20 years and absolutely still LOVE what I do!

However, small businesses are struggling right now…The cost of running a business is unbelievably high and keeps going up. Products and equipment costs alone have increased anywhere from 30% to 90%! We are seeing small businesses close weekly. Those that can't hold out and weather the storm, will be forced to close their doors. I don't want to be one of them!

Despite having been in business for so long and having an amazing and loyal core group of clients, the financial impact of this current economy has greatly taken it's toll. People are either going longer between appointments, reducing service costs by not receiving color services, or not scheduling services at all, because beauty services are the first thing people cut when trying to save money. Although I have put every precaution and safety net in place to ensure the continued success of my business, I am now faced with a decision…think creatively or close my doors. I chose to think creatively. I am thinking outside of the box to continue to grow and expand the business to ensure that my doors don't close! I want to continue to offer the passionate quality of services I have strived to offer for so long, as well as new services!

I have so many creative ideas to grow and expand the business, and hope these will ultimately be a contribution to the Dover community as well! I believe in the importance of supporting women in business and have always encouraged and supported Women Small Business Owners over the years. My hope with this campaign is to raise enough funds to keep my doors open AND expand services to include other Women Small Business Owners in a collaborative CO-OP network!

I'm asking for pre-sale of either $25, $50 or $75.

The DCB has survived opening during a recession in 2014, having to move locations, a pandemic, and MANY changes within the beauty industry and local community..I want to continue to survive this difficult time too!
