Crow Family Fire Recovery Fund

On Thursday afternoon, May 13th, the Crow family house caught fire. Most of the family was home at the time, but thankfully, all were able to get out safely. In an effort to help save the family home, which was the home that Greg grew up in, Greg went back in to fight the fire. Later on, the Fire Marshal said Greg's efforts likely saved their home from being completely destroyed. When rescuers arrived, Greg was immediately rushed to emergency care at UVA, due to the large amount of smoke intake he experienced. He was in pretty bad shape, but thankfully escaped being burned, aside from some minor burns on his head and lashes. He was put on a ventilator and oxygen and transferred to critical care in the Burn Unit at VCU, Richmond, where he'll most likely remain for several days. As of Friday afternoon, his medical team aims to decrease his pain medication and sedation and are hoping to remove the ventilator as soon as possible. Along with many, we are praying for his full healing and recovery.
God spared this family; however, their possessions will largely not be salvagible and time will tell if their home will be recovered or not, as it is still too early to know. Thankfully, they have insurance assisting them, but nothing can fully replace what has been lost. Discouragement can easily set in during such a difficult experience like this. Insurance has already made living accommodations available for them for several weeks. Following that time period, they anticipate being moved to an apartment longer-term, as insurance continues to assess the damage and they make decisions about the long-term status of their current home.
