CROSSROADS LIVES AGAIN!!!
Calling all… everyone! Friends, family, frenemies, locals, alums… I need you! After 6 years of being out of “The Roads”, I have an opportunity to step back into the bar that we all know and love. I didn’t really see this coming, but somehow, I think I manifested it. Over the past few years, I have sold insurance, worked as a police officer, and delivered parcels. Nothing seemed to fit, no matter how much it felt like I wanted it. I guess the grass is always greener. I need to go back to my “happy place” where I get to call my own shots, only answer to myself, and suffer the consequences of my decisions.
There is only one problem: cash flow! I’m not sure who is feeling super-nostalgic or who would just love to see Crossroads thrive again, but I am looking to raise at least $50,000 in order to breathe life back into this old bar. The money would go towards legal fees, licensing, equipment, repairs, and inventory. In the wake of Covid, the plan is to swing open the doors and fill the deck with diners and drinkers and watch our community flourish again. It has been a long year for all of us and I look forward to filling this hallow hall with music and laughter, like the days of old.
My hope is to receive $100 donations from 500 people, equaling 50K. Now, I know this is a huge ask for some, but if you get your exercise by going to pluck a Benjamin off the money tree in the back yard, well then “I’ll be your huckleberry.” Donations of $100 or more will receive an authentic, original Crossroads Bar & Grill T-shirt. (Who doesn’t need a hundred-dollar t-shirt? Think of the story you can tell!) I am trying to figure out whether or not I can offer a gift certificate reimbursement for all donations. Standby…
If you’ve got $5 bucks to give, or $500, Crossroads needs you! Maybe you are tight on cash, but would love to donate some time towards getting things ready… that’s cool. We are going to need some cleaners, hammerers, menders, plumbers, electricians, hangers, lifters, benders, artsy folks, dusters (definitely dusters!), and all sorts of various doers. Feel free to check in on us over the next few weeks in your free time and get your hands dirty!
I have sincerely appreciated all of your patronage and support for the 19 years that I was there, and I would greatly appreciate your support launching this community watering hole and eatery back into business… I can’t do it alone!
Thank you,
Scott Durkee
