Our Travis school family member, General McKenzie, crossing guard that serves at the corner of Florence and Highland Streets, is in the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation during a house fire over the winter break. The family anticipates a full recovery, although it is certainly going to take some time. His daughter was also hospitalized and is recovering. The prognosis for both is strong, but they have some serious recovery ahead.

Unfortunately, the house was a total loss. Mr. McKenzie will need to replace all the items in the house including personal belongings. Mr. McKenzie has worked hard to keep our children safe, and it is during this difficult time that we extend our help and gratitude.
