Hola Hola, I'm Jeffrey Rucker, writer, and director of Crossfaded, my Cleveland State University thesis film. Since attending Cleveland State in 2021, I've acted in over +30 student projects within the film department. However, I've never decided to direct my own piece until now. Over the years, I've learned a lot about the art of collaboration in film. I would like to use all of the knowledge that I have gained thus far to craft a fresh perspective on the "stoner comedy" genre.
What started off as an inkling of an idea turned into a pitch my for class, which turned into a script, which is turning into an actual production that we're going to film this Spring and I couldn't be more excited/grateful for it.
Logline: When a social drinking freshman and a weed-pedaling senior get trapped in the basement of a frat party, the two strangers cogitate exploring each other’s world for the first time in their lives.
This story is a passion project of mine. My goal is to make a story that delves beyond our perceived stereotypical archetypes and speaks from the heart. Ultimately reminding us of how related we are through our struggles in navigating the human condition.
The script is written to be produced as inexpensively as possible. Our funding goal would go towards assistance with fees, production design (props), and ensuring that our cast/crew gets fed during our shoot days.
Every donation will receive a Shout-out & Thank You in the credits, and any donation of 100 or more will receive an Executive Producer credit.**
Thank You for Everything Folks,
Jeffrey Rucker
