Crooked Path community jumpscare

The Crooked Path is a free, family-friendly jumpscare attraction founded on the principles of Proverbs 14:12; “A way seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” Going along with this theme, guests walk through an ominous environment cloaked in darkness, unsure of what ghastly fiends lie in wait! Instead of people dressed in costume, the attraction is populated entirely with custom-made props, operated by volunteers in hidden control rooms, to give a more convincing experience.

I start building this attraction every year starting in the beginning of September from the ground up with salvaged materials alongside our home. It takes me about 2 months to get from the framing to the finishing touches to be in time for 100+ kids on Halloween night. Yes, all this for one night! But the appreciation that is expressed by our local community for providing a fun, safe and free event makes it all a joy!

We love being able to offer this to our local community! But I’m sure you all know by your own experiences that putting time and effort into something like this isn’t always able to be part of the household budget. Our decision to postpone the Crooked Path until 2025 will help give us time to ensure a higher quality experience.
