Hello everyone,

My name is Joe McClelland and together with my mate Stephen McMullan we will be completing the Crooked Lake Triathlon in Camlough. We will be taking part in this event to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Everyday 7 young people aged between 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”.

You only have one chance at being young and these three words can take away many of their dreams. As a young adult I am very grateful for the position I am in today to be able to take part in this event. I have so many dreams and aspirations for my future and I can’t imagine the fear of that being taken away at this age. I wish to raise money to help young adults with cancer have a chance to get better and fulfil their dreams.

Each donation ensures that these young people are not alone throughout their battle and they have someone in their corner right from the start.

Teenage Cancer Trust’s nurses and youth workers walk with young people from diagnosis through every step of their treatment, and for up to two years afterwards, so that they can recover and live life to the full. They offer unique care and support, designed for and with young people. They fund specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment. They also run events for young people with cancer to help them regain independence and meet other young people going through something similar.

The charity ensures that NO ONE is alone!
