medicintic pump for addison diease

Hi there my name is Louise, I'm fundraising to be able to buy a meditonic 780g pump but not for diabetes its to delivery my steriod replacement therapy for my addisons disease

I have 3 young children, in Nov 2019 I had my youngest. Shortly after I started getting admitted into hospital constantly. In April 2020 I got diagnosed with addisons disease after a crisis that nearly killed me.

Since been diagnosed I have had multiple health conditions and complications. The main interference with with addisons disease is having gastropersis. Now for the last 4 years I have tried multiple ways to settle my gastropersis but sadly nothing helps. I'm on 3 different anti sickness tables 4 x a day but yet I'm still sick daily. Which makes me unable to hold my oral steriods down. This puts me at risk of another crisis which sadly around every 6 weeks I am rushed into resus. This is having a massive negative impact on my health as my body starts to shut down when I'm in crisis.

With this pump I wouldn't be as much at risk as the steriods go straight into my blood stream.

Sadly it is very expensive. The nhs won't fund it simply because there isn't enough people with addisons and that have ended up needing a pump. For some that have no other health issues they can lead a normal life while taken the oral steriods

After the consultation it has been made clear I do not have long to go if I do nothing, this pump will change my life and prolong it!

But there has been people under this exact consultant for 15/20 years and they are still ALIVE !!!

Yes am still a complex case for him and he doesn't know the full benefits for me but he does know this will give me longer and hopefully even a better quality of life as behind the mask that I show people is a totally different side. I don't like anyone seeing me when I'm ill but I'm trying to show and let people in for awareness. And to try my best to spend longer with my babies.

One day this will be available on nhs (hopefully if it survives)
