Barbie Plowman - Crohns & Disability Crisis

Hi! I'm starting this fund for my dear friend Barbie. She has been in a fight for her life due to Crohns Disease. She was in a Crohn's flare for YEARS and had surgery that was supposed to fix the issue. The initial surgery was unsuccessful and resulted in another year of pain while she she tried to find a surgeon to take her case. She found an amazing surgeon who came up with a treatment plan and in November 2020, she had her entire colon and rectum removed.

Since that time, she has had FIVE additional surgeries due to complications that have arisen, and likely has at least two more to go.

Throughout all of this, Barbie lost her employment. She has long-term disability insurance, but that only pays half of her previous income. She's single, lives alone, and has to be able to pay for rent, utilities, food, medication, medical supplies, health insurance, copays, car expenses, car insurance, etc. We all know that even when we cut our lives down to the basics, we still have expenses that we must find a way to pay. And Barbie is no exception.

We would like to fund her next several months of living expenses so she can focus on the next treatments she will have to have, and to recover from what her body has been through the last 14 years of fighting this awful disease.

Barbie will be receiving any payments from this directly. We're going to set this up so that it goes to her bank account. Please know anything you donate will go straight to her.
