Croatan Relays to New Balance Nationals
Donation protected
The Croatan High School track & field team would like to send another group of us to perform at New Balance Outdoor Nationals. For those donors that helped us achieve our last goal, I would like to let you know that we performed better than we could have dreamed. Due to the excess of money that we raised, we were eligible to send not only the 4x400m relay team to New Balance Nationals in Boston, MA but also our 4x800m relay team. In Boston, we racked up a great deal of experience and personal records! We were able to place 11th in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:22.27 and 1st overall in the 4x800m relay with a time of 7:59.74! We have since then increased our relay times tremendously, we have dropped our 4x400m relay time to 3:21.00 and our 4x800m relay time to 7:53.29. Along with this, we are proud to add another relay to our national team, the Sprint Medley Relay (SMR). The SMR is a relay consisting of 200, 200, 400, and 800 in that order. The qualifying time for this event is 3:35 at the national level, and our team recently ran 3:32.25. This would mean that we are now attempting to bring 6 athletes to the New Balance Nationals to run 3 different relays instead of the 2 relays we previously brought! This season's New Balance Nationals will take place at UPenn's Franklin Field in Philadelphia, PA on June 15-18th and will be viewable on a live stream on the New Balance Nationals official website. The money raised will help fund flights, relay cards for the events, hotels, transportation/rental cars, and any other necessary expenses! We hope that we can again reach above and beyond our goal to gain more exposure and make all of our donors proud!
