Hello, my name is Brittany and I have recurrent malignant squamous carcinoma (cervical cancer) and my son has epilepsy. I need help covering expenses as my family and I traverse these difficult times. Any help is greatly appreciated as I am currently unable to work. Thank you and many blessings!
Hello, my name is Brittany and I am the very lucky mom to my amazig 16 year old son. In 2020, my son was diagnosed with epilepsy and for the next 3 years we struggled to find a medication combination that would control his seizures so that he could resume being a normal teenager. Then, starting in May of '22, I slowly began suffering from left hip pain. After struggling for months to get answers as well as help with the pain, I was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer. I had a partial radical hysterectomy and was elevated to stage 3 when they discovered more cancer during the surgery. In October of 2022, I began aggressive regimen of chemotherapy each week and radiation everyday for a total of 6 weeks. I was told that I successfully beat my cancer and was back work just before Christmas, pain free.
Then in April of '23, the pain in my hip started coming back. I was told that it wasn't linked to my cancer and didn't need and earlier appointment. In June, at my 6th month check up, I was told that everything looked great but we didn't do any scans. I was told that they weren't needed. For the next 3 months, I continued working despite the pain until a spontaneous bleed at work sent me to the ER where I learned my cancer was back and had ruptured my bladder wall. The soonest I could get in to my doctor in Iowa City was a month later. Two weeks before my appointment, I was in their ER with severe leg swelling. I was informed by my Oncologist that I have a tumor in my bladder wall that is cutting off the blood supply in my leg as well as interfering with kidney drainage. I then transfered my care to Mayo where we've begun 3 chemotherapies for 6 rounds in an attept to shrink the tumor enough to hopefully make surgery a possibility.
