Hi! We are the students from the recently independent research institution, the CRMEP(Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy), previously located at Kingston School of Art. With the sweeping cuts throughout the humanities that took place last year at Kingston University, many of the postgraduate students are now unable to progress into the next stage of their study, now relentlessly searching for their next institutional habitat. Amongst these students who just completed their masters studies, there are a few who are also international students facing the burden of having to pay astronomical amount of Visa application fee plus the NHS surcharge. Specifically, one of the students is in an especially precarious state, with the inability to return to their home country due to political persecution and having to pay more than £3000 just to get a graduate visa in order to stay in Britain, a country with ever tightening rules on immigration. For this reason, we have set up this page to acquire funds to help our friend stranded in such a desperate situation. We deeply appreciate all the supports and solidarity that have been extended towards us by friends over the past year during our struggle for institutional survival.
