In the late hours of Saturday, February 5, 2022 I received a call that woke me from my sleep saying, “Your sisters been shot in the head. Hurry, come quick”. As we arrive and rush in the emergency room, the doctor tells us they had to put her in a medical induced coma to stabilize her vitals and assess the trauma and gunshot wound to the head. He preceded to tell us that the bullet was located in the back of the head resting on the brain stem and they could not do any operative procedure at this time to remove it. However if her brain began to swell from the trauma there was the risk that she possibly may not wake from the coma.

As the days and weeks passed of this long journey and much more, yet to come. God is by our side as she’s been in a medical induced coma twice. She went down for eye surgery and may not regain vision in her right eye. This past week she has undergone another surgery to have a lumbar shunt put in as she was leaking cerebral spinal fluid from her membrane. She’s in Surgical Intensive Care Unit taking it day by day. After her hospital stay, she will be going to a rehabilitation center where she is going to get the support she needs to be able to function in everyday life. This fundraiser is going to provide financial support for Traci and her 3 children. As well as, covering the costs of her medical expenses, as her surgeries and intensive care from these weeks will be costly.
