The endangered Southern Resident killer whales are a species built of the three remaining pods: J, K, and L with a combined total of 74 members left in the wild. This puts them on the critically endangered species list both internationally and in Canada. Our government has been under recent scrutiny for the negligence in acknowledging the legal obigation to perserve this species.

This is a movement to attempt to lessen the suffering of these animals. Recent research has shown lack of body weight and overall health in all with 26 individuals in critical health. They are starving, getting struck by boats and the toxins in the water have left all three calves born this year deseased.

News reports on the orcas have seen pleas from these creatures for help in the form of displaying their dead young or dead salmon being carried on their nose for miles. Orcas in this region has been recorded offering food to humans and taking out rutters of commercial vessels. The communications are conveyed to audiences unable to understand or care for their plea.

I ask for anyone compationate enough to go against the government who is failing these beautiful creatures and support our volunteers in aiding the orcas plight to survive.

Orcas can eat 100-300 pounds of food each day and I believe these orcas only food sources are on natural decline as well as being consumed by other preditory sea mammals directly competing for the main food source of chinook salmon.

There are only 5 breeding females and 1 breeding male left on earth. If any of these mammals do not survive the Southern resident orca population will be extinct.

The only way the mother orcas will have healthy babies next year is by feeding these starving creatures thru nutritional suppliments and seal culls. If we dont, this generation will be the last and we will have failed them completely.

Turning the tide for the Southern Resident Orca population has reached a detrimental stage for the last 74 individuals on earth being the lowest number on record.

Our small group requires the funding to legally hunt seal and fish for these orcas in the juan de fuca straight and our home waters off vancouver Island for the winter season in 2025-2026

Seal hunt and fish gathering is all done with local first nations and DFO permits, lisensing and marine saftey protocol standards.

Government denies importance of this project due to its contrasting stand regarding the new shipping docks under current construction at the mouth of undeniably the most important fraser river, supplying salmon runs, destroying large portions of the food source for the orcas.

Private funding is our last chance to start making a real difference. The changes made in past years clearly isnt enough if all calves born in 2025 passed before november of the same year.
