I rescued Daisy 1 year ago from a horrifying breeder at 9 weeks old. This little dirty bunny grew into an energetic, very silly, insanely sweet and cuddly girl.
At 12.5 lbs she is almost full grown and is considered one of the more delicate breeds of animals to work on. Rabbits are very tender animals and she is in need of extensive care.
3 days ago I took her in for having lame movement and mobility and was unresponsive to stimuli and hiding. We went into the hospital unsure of what to expect - an infection, a hurt limb, something neurological. This is what we know so far: physical exam came back ok. Bloodwork shows elevated liver enzymes (signifying a possible liver issue such as a twisted node or infection), high white blood cell count, and a significant fever. They are starting antibiotics and have performed a CT scan. We are waiting for results from both. I have been up for 3 days without much sleep between Eugene and Portland, 2 different hospitals, to finally get her where she needs to be - at Dovelewis Animal Hospital Portland with the exotic specialist.
I have no children of my own but she is my baby and my best friend. All donations and well wishes are so appreciated. With your help she can get the care she needs to come home again ❤️
Suggested donation $25-$50.
If only 200-400 people donate within this suggested range then we can meet our goal. All donations will go directly to her medical care. Every donation, regardless of size, makes a meaningful difference in supporting Daisy’s treatment and recovery.
whether you are able to donate or not, please share and help spread the word to your network.
Much Love,
Hannah Rein
