Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a sense of urgency to share a situation that has deeply impacted our lives. A beloved member of our family, Barbara Rodriguez, is currently facing a debilitating medical emergency that requires immediate attention and extensive medical treatment.

On the night of July 31st, Barbara was driving to work on her usual route when she was struck head-on by a vehicle. A criminal was fleeing from the police traveling on the wrong side of the road clocking at 100+mph before crashing into her. The assailant was unharmed and attempted to flee on foot until later detained. Barbara when hit, immediately lost consciousness and sustained injuries such as a fractured/misaligned knee, a stroke resulting in loss of mobility function in certain limbs, decreased sensation, vision impairment, and internal bleeding of the abdomen that required emergency surgery. Barbara thankfully woke up the next morning in a hospital bed, but at 28 years old with her birthday just a few weeks away her life was completely changed. She is currently unable to perform everyday functions and will be hospitalized until she is able to transfer to an inpatient rehabilitation facility and then finally brought home.

The doctors have recommended a series of specialized treatments, surgeries, medications, and inpatient services to give her the best chance at recovery and rehabilitation. Barbara is a daughter of a retired single parent and while we are doing everything we can to ensure her well-being, the costs associated with this medical journey have placed an overwhelming financial burden on her family’s shoulders.
