Critical Appeal to Help Tracy Heal

Tracy Lollie used to be an energetic young woman who enjoyed her life and was exceptionally active, running five miles a day, swimming, weight lifting, scuba diving, dog rescue and fostering, travelling, and water skiing. Here are photos of Tracy before she got sick, and today.

Sadly, she is now severely affected by Late Stage Lyme Disease and the days of being happy and healthy are a distant memory. She desperately needs to continue with treatment. Tracy is too sick to work and can’t bear the pain anymore, so she is reaching out for your assistance.

The background:

In 2009, the left side of Tracy’s face and top of her head started to sting and burn, like bee stings. Her eyes became inflamed and felt like they were bulging out of her head. She developed stabbing pains in her cheeks, eyes, and brain. Her head swelled and the bones in her head hurt.

By 2010, Tracy was completely incapacitated by the pain, stinging, burning, brain swelling, and head pressure. She started to have body shakes and was very weak, and was unable to continue working, so she had to move out of her home and move in with family as she became a convalescent. They had no idea what was wrong and neither did any of the medical doctors she saw. Some tried to imply that her symptoms were all in her head and others thought she might have Fibromyalgia, MS, and Parkinson’s. She got rashes, lost weight, from 112 lbs down to 78 lbs, cried all day in pain holding her head, and joint pain set in.

In 2011, Tracy tested positive for Lyme disease (Borrelia), Bartonella, and Babesia. Borrelia and Bartonella are bacteria and Babesia is a malaria-like protozoa. The infections are centered in her central nervous system, so she has Neurological Lyme Disease. (This diagnosis was not accepted by mainstream medical doctors.)

Tracy began an oral antibiotic protocol and it was slowly bringing the symptoms down. Unfortunately, in October of 2014, she had to stop treatment due to the infections affecting and shutting down her gastrointestinal system and requiring an operation.

The prese
Tracy has been getting progressively worse to the point where she has excruciating non-stop pain and severe head symptoms that make concentrating and reading or writing extremely difficult. She is very frail and has mobility issues. In addition to requiring treatment for Lyme disease, she now needs to have a second surgery. She has a Canadian specialist (covered by BC Medical) who is helping with the surgerical issues and an MD in Seattle who specializes in Lyme disease, Dr Marty Ross .

Tracy has had to seek private treatment from the US because Canadian doctors here won’t treat anyone who has chronic Lyme disease. The Lyme specialist’s fees are not covered by BC Medical and neither are the Bicillin injections that Tracy needs, so that is what your donation will help pay for. Tracy’s mother was helping her pay for the private doctor in the US but she is now on a pension and the treatment costs are considerable. Tracy is on a small and inadequate disability pension.

Next steps:

Tracy’s MD is recommending that she go ahead with the intestinal surgery and then restart treatment for Lyme with Bicillin injections three times a week. These injections cost $800 a month. Tracy will also need high doses of probiotics, an oral antibiotic called Rifampin to treat Bartonella, another antibiotic called Bactrim, and some herbal antibiotics, and she will need to be on them long term.

Once the treatment brings down the symptoms to a level where she will be able to function, Tracy will be able to go back to work and pay to the rest of her treatment. It’s hard to say how long that might be but it could be as much as twelve months.

Here’s how you can help:

1) Donate - In order for Tracy to be well enough to work again, she needs your support to pay for the antibiotic treatment protocol. She waited a long time to reach out for help and really hoped she wouldn’t need to but her recovery is impossible without your help. Even small donations will help!

2) Share this campaign with all of your friends through Facebook and email.

3) Pray for Tracy’s healing.

Please help however you can to get Tracy back to being happy, productive and healthy. When the medical system fails one of us, we all need to step in to help. There’s really no other way in this situation. Tracy has no other resources to help her and so she must rely on your generosity to overcome this disease.

Thank you for your support and generosity! Tracy will post regular updates to let you know how she is doing. God bless you!
