Friends,
Many of you know  i am a Trustee at Cristo Rey High School in Boston.  CRB is a Catholic school focused on educating inner city youth who come from low income families.  Almost 100% of the last 4 graduating classes gained acceptance to 4 year colleges. We currently have 373 students (and mimimal sports programs!)

This fall something incredible transpired though. We have no football program but have students that wanted to play.  A co-op team was formed with neighboring Cathedral High School. Cathedral has a similiar mission to ours and ended last season with 18 players  on their football squad.    17 boys from Cristo Rey signed up this august and they figured together they'd give  it a shot in Division 4 North Football.

I have attached a video from Boston TV ABC Channel 5 that was broadacast last week.   A team formed from 2 different  schools (and  not historically friendly ones)  went a mere 7-0 in regular season!   they won a state playoff game and finally got knocked out rd 2 last friday.

PLEASE -Take a look at the video (Click on High 5 link  up above), no locker rooms, no regular fields,   no prior connectivity among the schools, (they did get good Uniforms though) 
Cristo Rey created a 4k emergency budget created for football- the season cost us 10k.  i watched the season progress and impact not only the team but the entire Cristo Rey student  body in a hugely postive way

So i am creating this page,  and i will kick it off with $1,500 but take a look at the videoo- one of the best sports stories ive seen in a long time.  I'd like to help CRB cover the cost of Football and make sure the Co-op continues and hopefully starts more Co-Op teams in all sports!
