Cristiano e la nostra battaglia contro il Glioblastoma

Ciao a tutti!

Mi chiamo Cristina e sono la

moglie di Cristiano,loro nella

foto sono i nostri due tesori Isabel e Sebastian.

La nostra battaglia contro quel mostro chiamato Glioblastoma(il tumore cerebrale più aggressivo che c’è )è cominciata il 19 gennaio 2024.

”Suo marito ha una massa in testa”sono state le parole della dottoressa del pronto soccorso.Ci mandano all’ospedale di Cattinara però decidiamo di cambiare e andare a Udine dove viene operato in neurochirurgia da un team fantastico.

Cristiano si riprende alla grande,seguono 30 sedute di radioterapia e un anno di chemio con varie visite e risonanze di controllo.

Sembrava andare tutto per il meglio fino a quando il 27 maggio 2025 arriva la brutta notizia dopo una risonanza di controllo,recidiva,il mostro si stava risvegliando.

Torniamo a Udine dove viene rioperato il 23 giugno 2025.Dopo un mese di recupero difficile arriva il giorno della risonanza.Anche stavolta il tumore cerebrale ha la meglio su di noi,sta già ricrescendo e non si può operare perché sta toccando zone delicate del cervello. L’ospedale a Trieste la radioterapia non la fa e quello di Udine ci manda ad Aviano,il Centro Oncologico Regionale per un secondo parere.

Cristiano dal giorno della diagnosi non ha più lavorato,è stato messo in pensione ed io ho dovuto diminuire il mio lavoro come domestica per prendermi cura dei bambini e seguire lui nelle varie visite e viaggi tra un ospedale e l’altro.

Vi chiedo un aiuto per dare un po’ di serenità

alla mia famiglia in questo periodo difficilissimo della nostra vita.Abbiamo bisogno di stare con Cristiano il più possibile,tentare tutte le terapie disponibili e viverlo oggi così com’è sempre stato durante questo percorso,positivo e sorridente nonostante tutto!

My name is Cristina and I am Cristiano’s wife, they are our two treasures Isabel and Sebastian. Our battle against that monster called Glioblastoma (the most aggressive brain tumor there is) began on

January 19, 2024.

'Your husband has a mass in his head' were the words of the emergency room doctor. They sent us to the hospital in Cattinara, but we decided to change and go to Udine where he was operated on by a fantastic neurosurgery team.

Cristiano is recovering well, followed by 30 sessions of radiotherapy and a year of chemo with various checkups and scans.

Everything seemed to be going for the best until May 27, 2025, when we received the terrible news after a control scan: the disease had relapsed, the monster was waking up again.

We returned to Udine where he was reoperated on June 23, 2025. After a month of difficult recovery, the day of the scan arrived. This time too, the brain tumor had the upper hand, it is growing again and cannot be operated on because it is touching delicate areas of the brain. The hospital in Trieste sends us to Aviano, the Regional Oncology Center, for a second opinion.

Since the day of the diagnosis, Cristiano has not been able to work, he has been put on disability, and I have had to reduce my work as a domestic worker to be able to care for the kids and follow him on the various visits and trips between one hospital and another.

l ask for your help to give a little bit of serenity to my family during this very difficult time in our lives. We need to be with Cristiano as much as possible, try all the available therapies and live every day as he has always been during this journey, positive and smiling despite everything!
