Cristiane and her family need your help

Hi, my name is Luciana and I set up this GoFundMe page to support and raise funds to Cristiane Pereira do Amaral Ferreira, who has been diagnosed with a stage 4 stomach cancer here in Sydney, Australia. Having battled and survived a stage 3 breast cancer three years ago, I know exactly what she's going through.

Cristiane is a 37 years old Brazilian citizen who arrived in Sydney with her 10 years old son in the very end of 2022 to join her husband Ismael, who has been living in Australia for the past three years. Cristiane and her family are current on a Student Visa (subclass 500), as she was studying an English course.

In late February she started having strong headaches and stomachaches, and sought medical assistance with a GP that prescribe pain killers. Few days later and she was still in pain, seeking medical support once more. She got a referral to undertake some scans from her head and stomach, which pointed out she was having a stroke. Cristiane was immediately sent to the hospital where she spent five days recovering in March. However, the stomachache hasn't been solved.

In mid March the pain was too strong which made Cristiane go to the doctor again, to find out she had metastatic stomach cancer which spread out to some other vital organs of her body.

She has been admitted to Chris O'Brien Lifehouse Hospital in Camperdown in early April and her situation is serious. As she's an international student she is not entitled to Medicare, and her OSHC (Overseas Student Health Coverage) doesn't cover oncologic treatment such as immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy she needs to undertake, and the cost is very high.

Her husband Ismael and son Gustavo are the only family members she has in Australia. Ismael needs to work to provide for his wife and son, and doesn't have sufficient funds to pay for the medical and treatment expenses that Cristiane needs. Also, he's intending to bring Cristiane's sister from Brazil to help look after her and her son.

Olá, meu nome é Luciana e criei esta página GoFundMe para apoiar e arrecadar fundos para Cristiane Pereira do Amaral Ferreira, que foi diagnosticada com câncer de estômago estágio 4 aqui em Sydney, Austrália. Tendo lutado e sobrevivido a um câncer de mama estágio 3 há três anos, sei exatamente o que ela está passando.

Cristiane é uma brasileira de 37 anos que chegou EM Sydney com o filho de 10 anos no final de 2022 para se juntar ao marido Ismael, que mora na Austrália há três anos. Cristiane e sua família estão com o Visto de Estudante (subclasse 500), pois ela estava fazendo um curso de inglês.

No final de fevereiro ela começou a ter fortes dores de cabeça e de estômago, e procurou atendimento médico com um clínico geral que prescreveu analgésicos. Poucos dias depois e ela ainda estava com dor, buscando suporte médico mais uma vez. Ela recebeu um encaminhamento para fazer alguns exames de cabeça e estômago, que indicaram que ela estava tendo um derrame/AVC. Cristiane foi encaminhada imediatamente ao hospital onde passou cinco dias se recuperando em março. No entanto, a dor de estômago não havia sido resolvida.

Em meados de março as dores eram muito fortes o que fez com que Cristiane voltasse ao médico, para descobrir que tinha câncer de estômago metastático que se espalhou para alguns outros órgãos vitais de seu corpo.

Ela foi internada no Hospital Chris O'Brien Lifehouse em Camperdown no início de abril e sua situação é grave. Como ela é uma estudante internacional, não tem acesso ao Medicare, e seu OSHC (Seguro de Saúde para Estudantes Internacionais) não cobre tratamentos oncológicos como imunoterapia, quimioterapia e radioterapia que ela precisa fazer, e o custo é muito alto.

Seu marido Ismael e seu filho Gustavo são os únicos familiares que ela tem na Austrália. Ismael precisa trabalhar para sustentar a esposa e o filho, e não tem dinheiro suficiente para pagar as despesas médicas e de tratamento que Cristiane precisa. Além disso, pretende trazer a irmã de Cristiane do Brasil para ajudar a cuidar dela e do seu filho.
