Hi, I'm Liza Wolsky. Many of you know me and my Cornish Rex, Lilli. Some of you have known us for many years. Right now, we are in trouble. Some of you know, I was displaced from my home because of damage due to outside construction. The return has been frighteningly costly. Most things were damaged; many things were lost or destroyed.

I have almost nothing left.

Last week, Lilli started to sneeze and cough. She seemed to get better, but in the last few days, she started to sneeze terribly, knocking herself over. She began long coughing fits.

She has a heart murmur, and last spring, she was diagnosed with HCM. Because she was coughing and has a heart condition, I became concerned that she might be going into heart failure. The same has happened to me. It's odd that we have similar diagnoses.

I took her to the local vet for an x-ray. They have said she has heart failure.

I have brought her now to the Animal Medical Center in New York, where she has a good cardiologist. But she will need to stay over the weekend because the cardiologist is not there till Monday. Then she will need a full workup and treatment.

She is 15. She is my child, my love, and my very best friend. She has kept me from a catastrophe in life so many times.

I want to try to save her. I have committed to $7000, which is her estimated care at this time. I really don't have enough money to pay and live. I never in my life dreamed I would be in such a situation as I have always planned for as much financial stability as I could have. It is because of the terrific series of catastrophic events prior to now that I am in such a spot.

I have many times helped people in need. I have donated many times.

I hope that since we are in a position where we must ask, someone might come to our aid. Please help if you possibly can. I thank you more than I can say.
