So I have had a lot of people reaching out to me, and messaging me… asking how they can financially support me on my journey to the stage. I have gotten asked this a lot over the past year. I have had many people ask me to start a Go Fund Me page so they can support me, since they can’t physically be at my shows.
I have a hard time accepting help from others, so I have always just laughed it off.
But it’s now to the point that I have people showing up at my work and just handing me money and asking me to put it towards my competitions this year.
I started to realize it’s actually a really huge compliment. I never realized how many people were watching me and supporting me. And I truly appreciate the support, from the bottom of my heart.
Yes, competing is expensive. It’s around $2000 per show, and more if you have to fly.
I have always just picked up a second or third job to help pay for it all. And I usually go by myself to keep costs down too. Well this year my youngest son has begged me to be able to come cheer me on at my shows, so it will be more expensive.
The plan is to do regionals (in 1 week in Saskatoon), and hopefully qualify for Nationals (4weeks later in Toronto). If things don't go as planned in Toronto, then I would do Olympia Amateur in Orlando (3 weeks later).
This is not me ASKING for money. I just made this for the people that have been asking to support me on my journey to the stage.
Any and all donations go towards competition costs, and any remaining amounts will just be used towards future competitions.
Thank you again everyone for your continued support. I appreciate each and every one of you!
Sincerely,
Cris
