Hi, my name is Joey Scullion.

I am undertaking a Hyrox event in London on Sunday 4th May 2025.

Hyrox is an endurance event which includes a mix of eight 1km runs alternating with eight different workouts.

In the lead up to the event I would like to raise some much needed funds for a local boy Criostai Connolly AKA Criostai's Heroes.

I've obtained permission from Criostai's family to undertake this fundraiser and Criostai's mum, Leona, has kindly provided a history of Criostai's condition below along with outlining how the much needed funds assist with Criostai's treatment:

"Criostai has a muscle wasting condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which has no cure.

It weakens every muscle in the body, including the heart.

With improvements to care, the life expectancy has increased to mid 20's.

Criostai will be 18 later this year and is doing well thanks to everyone who has supported him getting previous treatments.

Although Criostai is wheelchair bound and hasn't the strength to do much other than feed himself and operate his electronic gadgets, he has a love of life and many interests, soccer especially.

Criostai travels abroad for treatment, which improves his quality of life and keeps his heart healthy, also slowing the progression of losing his arm function completely.

We are now going every 6 months for treatment at a cost of approx £13,500 a trip, a huge financial ask.

Including the upcoming trip in May, we have self funded £30,000 so we really appreciate the help everyone provides to keep Criostai as heathy as possible."
