Dear Friends and Family,
This June, I will become a Bar Mitzvah in Hawaii! For my mitzvah project, I have combined my love for animals and the environment to support an organization that serves the communities we will be visiting.
Conservation Dogs of Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been active since 2019. Their mission is to utilize the extraordinary olfactory abilities of dogs to detect invasive species to mitigate their impact on wildlife and the ecosystems of Hawai‘i, and to locate endangered species for research and conservation purposes. Our professionally trained dog-and-handler teams conduct field surveys for proven applications, and they also facilitate proof-of-concept and pilot projects for novel target species and applications.
Some of their current projects include:
- Little Fire Ant (LFA) invasive species project on Oahu and Hawaii islands
- Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle invasive species project on Kauai
- Vessel Biosecurity, which screens boats and planes for invasive rodents and ants to prevent accidental transfer
- Endangered Seabird Nest project on Hawaii island
- Endangered Sea Turtle Nest project on Oahu
- Downed Wildlife Detection program at Oahu wind farms
Being a small organization with a big mission, Conservation Dogs of Hawaii relies on donations from others to help them achieve their goals. Please help me help this amazing organization.

You may make a monetary donation which will help us purchase specialized training tubes to capture smells to train the dogs. These range in price from $44-$265.
