Our trailer has Died! Please Help!!!Help us raise $5000 towards a new trailer and rack system so we can continue sharing our hobby with others.
Crew 57 is the only youth based/ Boy Scout's of America model railroad club in the Chicago Metropolitan area. Our club members are kids ages 10-21 from all walks of life, who share the life long hobby of model railroading. We attend several shows a year, where we display our modular layout. Up until recently we carried our layout in our club trailer. On Saturday, July 11th our old trailer pictured above rusted through while on route to a show in Big Rock, IL. This trailer was originally a 1953 bread truck, that one of our adult members converted into a trailer. The trailer was on its last wheels and is beyond repair. That in turn is why we ask for your help for a new trailer and rack system to carry our layouts.
I, Andrew Bobis, have been with the club since I was 13 years old. I was youth president for 6 years and am now one of the adult committee members.
The club is a good place for youth to learn certain skills, such as carpentry and electricity. We hope to continue displaying our layout and gaining youth members for years to come with your help getting a new trailer.
