For Cresta's expenses and celebration of life

Our beloved Cresta’s soul was recently returned to the universe on April 14th, 2023. Because it was at such a young age and unexpected, her affairs were not settled. Cresta passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack, leaving behind her niece, Symone, partner, Omaree, two fur babies (Frida and Django), close family, and hundreds of friends who loved her dearly.

I’m setting up this GoFundMe page to help Cresta’s family cover any immediate out-of-pocket expenses resulting from her unexpected death (last debts, property management expenses, distribution expenses, fees, and taxes), help honor her last wishes, and plan an out of this world celebration of life on Juneteenth 2023.

A little about Cresta…

It’s hard to imagine a world without Cresta in it. She was beautiful inside and out and lit up a room like the brightest star with her bubbly personality and luminous energy. She had a zest for life, a wicked sense of humor, and was a diehard Trekkie. Cresta educated and mentored us with her off-the-charts intelligence (no topic was off limits), and continually amazed us with her courage, activism, compassion, resilience, tenacity, and vibrance. She was many things to many people (friend, colleague, advocate, confidante, collaborator, mentor, muse, partner, and much more), genuine and authentic to the core, she consistently gave of herself to anyone in need.

I’d like to believe that Cresta was here for a reason and her path was meant to cross those who knew her best. While I imagine we will spend a lifetime trying to fill this Cresta-sized void, I know we are all better people for having known her.
