Two years ago, I lost my oldest and best friend, at the young age of 32. We had been friends since we were about 4 years old, shared the same name, and were only a couple months apart in age. Unfortunately, Jenn passed away unexpectedly and suddenly, and anyone who knew her lost a bright light in their lives. She was spunky, loving, loyal and caring to those who she loved. She would do anything for those she cared about, and it's something that I always appreciated about her.

While it seems unreal, Jenn is still in the morgue after a long two years, and her time is running out. Unfortunately, next of kin couldn't be contacted, and now she needs to be cremated and released to anyone who will claim her by the end of December. The problem, it will cost about $1,500 to have this done, and that's just for the cremation. The other significant issue, she is in Hawaii. Not exactly the easiest place to get to. While I know there will be further costs, this is the most important. If this doesn't happen, the morgue will have no choice but to remove and dispose of her body with the rest of the unclaimed. I can't imagine my best friend being tossed away with no respect or concern about how or where. She deserves better than that.

I feel that this is my final chance to find closure, show her the respect that she deserves, and to say goodbye. There's been no memorial service for her as of yet, and obviously it's been hard to find closure. I, along with a few other people who care and love her are working together to try and make this work now that we can legally obtain her remains.
