Cremation & memorial service for Shari Keane

Hi, my name is Sia Keane and I am creating this fund to help our family pay for my mother's cremation and memorial service. I am Shari's 20-year-old daughter.

My four siblings and I lost our beloved mother on February 10 2023 unexpectedly from a drug overdose. She was only 53 at the time of her passing. My older sister, my younger brother and I found her after dropping by our grandma's house for a visit, where my mother had been staying for the past 3 months to care for her terminally ill mother.

We're absolutely devastated and shocked by her passing and are struggling financially to find the funds to cover the cost of the cremation and memorial service, as we now have additional bills and rent to pay. But we want to cremate our mother as it was always her wish to be cremated, and we want to give our mother the memorial she deserves to honour her memory and say our last goodbyes.

Our mother was the strongest woman we knew. She was a fighter, a survivor. She singlehandedly raised five kids through poverty, homelessness and multiple health issues. She did her best to provide us with a good life, and it wasn't always easy but she never gave up and was always there. She was loved.

We need to raise $1,999 by February 22 2023 for the cremation to proceed, and $500 by the end of February for the memorial service. In total, $2,500. Anything over that amount will go towards bills, food and living essentials.

Here is a current breakdown of all the costs involved in the memorial service for Shari Keane. These are estimates for now, but it will be updated as we get more information on the pricing. 

Cremation - $1,999

Memorial service (at-home, informal) - $500
