Cremation & Memorial Service for Randy Edwards

Donation protected
Mr. Randy Wayne Edwards of Queen City, Texas passed away on Monday, June 19th. He worked at Red River Army Depot as a mechanic until his retirement in 2014. Randy was an entrepreneur, avid hunter/fisher, Bigfoot enthusiast, and loved all things outdoors. He spent most of his life on the baseball/softball field both as a player and umpire. He was a high school superstar playing for the Queen City Bulldogs breaking several school records. Randy played college baseball at Ouachita Baptist University. Randy, Wayne, and Connie shared their love of baseball/softball by playing, umpiring, and scorekeeping for church league softball. I believe there were a couple of church league state championships involved. They were huge St. Louis Cardinal fans, attending several games. Randy served his country for 11 years as a mechanic in the Army National Guard. Randy was a dreamer and his dreams were BIG. He invented a slingshot that would shoot a full-length arrow that is used by many today for hunting and bowfishing. Randy is credited by several avid duck hunters for creating the best lanyard for calls. He even sold a few to the famous Duck Commander. He sold his creations at Canton Trade Days and local gun shows. He charmed the vendors surrounding him with his big smile and banter. To them, he was known as "Pretty Boy". He never met a stranger due to his baseball career and attending several schools in the area. In recent years, his dream was to find Bigfoot proving its existence. He loved his time spent around campfires, following trails, and listening for Bigfoot calls with his fellow enthusiast. He would tell anyone that would listen about his many so-called Bigfoot encounters. Randy is preceded in death by his parents Mr. Harvey Wayne and Mrs. Constance Sue Edwards. He is survived by his son Shannon Wayne Edwards. Shannon does not have the monetary means to pay for his Dad’s cremation or memorial service. Several of you have contacted me asking how to donate or contribute. I have created this page for contributing or you can also contact Hanner Funeral Home in Atlanta, Texas if you would like to donate directly to them.
