Cremation for my father (William Lee Polston Jr)
Saddens me to say that today on December 15th 2021 my family and I had to make the horrible decision on my father's life. Unfortunately tomorrow afternoon at 12:00 p.m. they will be removing the breathing tube and feeding tube! Then after this process it will be a waiting period for him to pass on peacefully. University of Cincinnati will make sure my dad is very comfortable during this process!
My dad had a cardiac arrest on December 5th around 4:00 in the morning while he was sleeping. CPR was given to my father by myself until the ambulance arrived and they were able to jump start his heart but he has been in a coma since. He went about 15 to 20 minutes without oxygen to his brain and according to the MRI he has limited to no brain function. A family decision was made today that he would definitely not want to live like this because he will never wake up from the state that he's in.
My father's last wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes divided between my brothers and I, some of his ashes to be laid over top of my mother's grave site. And a remainder of his ashes would be laid out in Chicago in one of his favorite neighborhoods. Being his oldest son I really want to make sure that his last wishes are followed to the best of my ability. Unfortunately we did not see this coming or was there any plan in place for his passing. For him to be cremated once he passes it's $1,500 here in Cincinnati and my brothers and I are trying to raise the money so that way we can fulfill his last wishes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and all donations will go directly to the cremation center once we have selected one. Thank you in advance for any help my father was the type of person who would give his shirt off his back to help anybody. See you at multiple people live with him when he had his home that did not have a place so that they we're not on the street. He was just a type of person that you like to be around.
Thank you in advance
his sons Ronald William and Ryan
