My father Clifton Smith started working at KPFT in 1980 and ever since it was a big part of his life.
I believe the radio station was his happy place.
For the last year he has been in a long term care facility. He is now at the end of his life and receiving comfort care.
The pandemic has left me without disposable income to be able to pay for his funeral. And there is no money from his estate to cover his final wishes.
Any donations will help. The lowest cost cremation is $760 and that only covers the cremation itself.
Since he is receiving hospice care the nursing home is requiring me to set up arrangements before he passes. And the service must be paid for in advance.
