Cremation and Memorial For Lera Ann Wilson (Uva)

Hello everyone,

I am starting a gofundme to raise money for my mother’s cremation and memorial. There will not be a traditional funeral as she requested many times that we not have one nor can I afford one. I would like to have a memorial at Savin Rock in West Haven for everyone to pay their respects and then another one for close family and friends at Lighthouse Point in New Haven because this was the place we considered home the longest.

Although my mom struggled she was a strong and vivacious woman. She had a heart of gold and always took care of me and my brother no matter the cost. She did the best she could with what she had. She will be missed by many.

Unfortunately, because of the circumstances Joseph ended up incarcerated and I need to get him out to finalize the cremation paperwork. This will cost another $500. I didn’t include it in the “goal” because this money will be returned when he goes to court. Anything over the cost of the cremation and memorial will be donated to SWAN. This is a local organization that helps sex workers and addicts seeking treatment. After the memorial I will update everyone as to how much will be donated.
