Cremation and Memorial costs for my father, Glenn

Hello. If you're seeing this pop up, you more than likely know me, and if you were ridiculously lucky in life you knew my father too, or at least met him. My name is Leslie, and I am the only daughter of the late Glenn Burdick Sr.

To so many people, the first impression of my father was that he was a "big, scary guy." But for those that didn't run away, lol, you quickly learned he was such an incredibly rad dude. A guy who loved to play baseball, loved movies, rock & roll, flying airplanes, listening the roar of a jet engine, smell of a airshow, and loved his family above all. He may not have always said it, but his actions spoke volumes, and when we needed him, he was always there.

You probably also learned that he was diabetic, and over the years lost his vision, leg, and now, his life. A true Balboa Bulldog to the end, he was strong, stubborn, hilarious, and only ever wanted the best for all of us. He was a hard worker, an honest man, and despite his outward appearance, he was a softie at heart. He may have looked like he was scowling in his advanced age, but if you looked right into his green eyes, you saw that there was a teddy bear in there.

There is so much that I could write about him, and eventually I know I will have to talk about him... and believe me when I have more stories than I will ever be able to recount, but this post is to ask you, those who loved him, cared about him and are able to help, for your assistance at this difficult time.

It pains me to have to write this now, and I'm sorry to have to even ask. I know that times are tough... I know that we are all being affected by the insanity of the world around us but please... if you can help us in any way to send my beloved father off with diginity, we would greatly appreciate the help.

The funds raised through this campaign are to AT MINIMUM cover the cost of a cremation, which is what he wanted for as long as I can remember, but hopefully we can have a memorial service as well - there are so many people who loved him and want to say goodbye. Any excess would be used to help my mother financially while we get all of his affairs in order. Thank you so much,
