Hi, my name is Amellia, i’m Pete’s youngest daughter, i’ve lived with him for the last 16 years, my whole life. Sadly on December 30th upon returning to our home, I found him in my bedroom unconscious and not breathing. My father struggled with alcohol addiction for years, over a year ago he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and A-Fib. We found traces of blood in his urine and stool which we believe means he died of kidney failure yet my father claimed to be fine even up to hours prior to his death which was why this was such a huge shock to us as his family and friends. My father was an amazing man, he had many friends, he was definitely a social butterfly, he brought good energy and laughter with him wherever he went, he was the life of the party and had such a beautiful soul, and he dedicated himself to being a father, no matter how hard things got, he still took care of and raised me on his own for 16 years, with that being said, it has always been just me and my father so i’m reaching out to ask for help with his funeral and cremation expenses being that i am a minor and cannot afford to get all of this taken care of on my own, thank you so much to anyone who can help and anything is appreciated. After we’ve raised the money, i will do a follow up post explaining when the service is and where. It will be here in the Quad Cities, I’m planning to have him cremated and have half of his ashes sent to the Rock Island Arsenal being that he is a veteran and would get a nice tombstone and grave site while being cremated. With that being said the service will be held at the Arsenal, assuming it will be a small group due to the fact that most family and friends are resided in California.
