Cremation and Celebration of Life for Kelly Irving

Donation protected
My name is Kathryn Clark. I am 24 years old and I have three siblings named Christy Ann (27), Desmond (22) and Alexia (19). Our Mother, Kelly Jean Irving, was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2004 at the very young age of 34 years old. The doctors had suggested and completed a mastectomy of the right breast in order to stop the cancer from spreading, but by that point it had already spread to her bones and to her lungs. Due to the illness, our mother had lost a total of 5 inches of height and so much weight that at the end she only weighed about 98lbs. She battled cancer and the diseases that came as a result of the radiation for 15 years.

Kelly was a very strong woman and she fought the good fight. Anyone who knew her knew that she could be very stubborn and difficult at times, but at the end of the day she loved her children. We all had a complicated relationship with her, but we are grateful for the memories we had the chance to make. Only now are we fully beginning to understand how truly hard she fought for every day that she had.

Our mother passed away due to respiratory failure on 08-21-19 at the age of 49, only mere hours after she was placed on hospice . Christy Ann and I drove from Reno, NV. to Auburn, CA. on 08-20-19 just to visit with her for a few hours without knowing how serious this trip would turn out to be. With that being said, we had little to no plans of what to do after our mother had passed. With no other financial help, my siblings and I are now taxed with the sudden financial responsibilities that come with the passing of a loved one. Such as funeral plans, bills, and a celebration of life, if we can manage.

In addition, we have been working tirelessly on the sale of her estate and belongings because we have to have her apartment cleaned out by the beginning of September. In order to manage this move, we are having to donate, throw away, sell, or otherwise ship to the dump the belongings with little to no sentimental value.

Unfortunately, the costs of this are beginning to add up to much more than we can reasonably manage. The cost of the cremation alone is close to $1100. It is with great humility that we are asking for donations to help with the financial weight and reality of what we are having to face.

Those of our family and long term friends know how truly long of a journey this has been, and we are genuinely so grateful for any and all support we have received and will continue to receive.

Thank you all very much. I hope you know how much we truly appreciate you. Much love.
