Wassup!
Christmas eve is a very poignant day in my family tradition. I am writing from a rehabilitation hospital, in isolation, unable to ambulate on my own, at the mercy of an institution's guidelines for recovery, and straight 'not feeling it' while being here after being struck by a reckless driver more than 5 weeks ago.
Although I have a fortuitous attitude towards recovery, the dark night of the soul impacted by the winter solstice seems overwhelmingly difficult to navigate on my own.
That said, I would like to let folks know that I am working diligently to maintain an attitude of gratitude. The support thru this platform has been fruitful and affirms me there are folks who identify with my plight and acknowledge where help is needed x act!
As I realize more and more that I dodged death, I am doing some serious soul searching. This is not my journey alone. The hospital staff here is amazing as they continuously make an effort to support me in my recovery. I am in contact with my dear close friends, am furthering spiritual practices, dedicating time daily to my creative disciplines, and plain enjoying the creature comforts available to me!
I've come to be able to dress myself, transfer to a wheel chair (with assistance), learn more about nutrition x healing, and straight plan for my comeback into society!
My recovery seems daunting at times. I am challenged with maintaining hygiene, both mentally and physically. I had an advisor express that 'clean' nutritious food seems necessary given my circumstances. Nonetheless, the hospital keeps me supplied with a steady diet not so conducive to healing. White flour, mystery animal protein, high sodium soups and sauces, trans fats, and high fructose corn syrup sweeteners are the industry standard (as has been expressed by staff).
AI has been most useful in navigating dietary needs and developing plans to supplement the hospital food.
Superfoods; including protein bars, RNA supporting supplements, supergreens drink mixes, and immune support have been ordered thru amazon. Thru the donations here, I have a good jump on being able to navigate thru foreboding circumstances.
Remember! Every little bit helps.
Prayers x shares!
Thanks again!
Ian
