Thank a carer or essential worker with a poem!
Word Travels is connecting the magic of poetry with thanking Carers - health workers, teachers, grocers, public transport folks, your neighbour ... whomever you'd like to thank for their wonderful support during this crazy time!
Our poets have been hit hard too by cancelled gigs, so hiring them to write poems is a gift all around!
Help lift spirits and share some gratitude.
So how does it work?

DONATE & NOMINATE
All donations pay for writers to perform for carers on phone or screen; in live or recorded forms.
Nominate a carer you know or Word Travels will nominate carers through its partners - currently in discussion with hospitals, medical centres, schools and grocers. Poems are delivered by Zoom, What's App, FaceTime (audio or visual).
Decide how much you'd like to spend. All donations are tax deductible through the IPWA Gift Fund.
Nominate:
$50 - Send an original pre-recorded poem to a carer you nominate.
Connect:
$100 - Connect your nominated carer with a private Zoom or phone performance with a live writer.
Dedicate:
$300 - Commission a bespoke poem or story performed by a live writer via audio or video to a carer nominated by you. Give us some background about this fabulous person including five descriptive words, and our writer will create a special delivery!
Visit:
$1000 - All of the above plus schedule a post-COVID-19 personal visit and live performance (travel and accommodation may be additional depending).
Impact:
$2500 and up - Let's do something big and fun together.
